2016 Children’s Show: Stellaluna And Other Tales Begins June 14, 2016

“A lovely treat for families to savor”   – The Chicago Tribune

The Lost Colony is proud to announce that its 2016 Children’s show sponsored by ACE Outer Banks, “Stellaluna And Other Tales” is coming to the Waterside Theatre on Roanoke Island.  Based on the popular books by Janell Cannon, play written by Alyn Cardarelli, with music by Steve Goers, this delightful musical is a pleasure for both children and adults!  The children’s show will be performing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2:00 PM from June 14th through August 17th.

The play tells the story of Stellaluna the bat, Verdi the snake, and Pinduli the hyena.  They are all seeking refreshment at a watering hole one hot day, only to find themselves the subjects of a bullying lion’s ridicule.  But by sharing stories about building self-confidence, these three misfit animals find wisdom, peace, and friendship.  For over 40 years the cast of The Lost Colony has produced a show just for kids.  Imagination & fantasy run wild in this hour of family fun!

Directed by Naythen Blake Rinehart, with Christina Villaverde as Musical director, the production features a cast that includes: Megan Glover as Pinduli, Henson Milam as Verdi, Delphon Curtis as Lion and Bethany Johnson as Stellaluna. Other cast members include Christopher Flores and Matt Gabbard. Costumes will be created by Jeri Meador. Taylor Dobbs will design the set.

This event is generously sponsored by:  ACE Outer Banks Hardware.  Tickets are $10.00.  Tickets are available by phone at 252-473-2127, or online at www.www.www.thelostcolony.org.
