Director of Development, Teresa Griffin Teresa has been a devotee of and champion for the arts her entire career, whether as educator, college dean, or development director. She first attended a Lost Colony production in 1973. When she returned to Manteo in 1999, the production had grown tremendously and evolved into the stunning visual and auditory spectacle it is today. Developing friends for The Lost Colony is a mission she embraces wholeheartedly, for without the arts, she insists, the soul dies, creative talent is left undeveloped, and generations are deprived the knowledge of their collective artistic and cultural history.
Theater Manager/ Interim CEO, Brandon Smith Brandon has spent his entire career dedicating himself to the idea that the arts can change lives. After studying acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory, he became Theater Manager at the Outdoor Drama Tecumseh. There, he and Marion Waggoner created a template of operations for outdoor theaters which is still being used all over the country. He has managed a diverse collection of organizations from Symphonies to Broadway, raising over $2 million for the arts along the way. To be a part of the team carrying the torch for one of America’s greatest theatrical legacies is one of the great joys of his life.
Director of Marketing, Charles H. Massey Charles is pleased to be returning to the world of outdoor drama having started his career as a dancer in “Unto These Hills” while still in college. Since that time he has been a teacher in New Hampshire, a Casting Director and a Theatrical Manager in New York, and a Voice Over Agent in Los Angeles. He has served as Artistic Director and Associate Producer of the New London Barn Playhouse in New London, NH. (also celebrating its 75th anniversary this summer.) He has recently moved to Manteo from New Hampshire where he was the Executive Director of The Newport Opera House Association.
Production Coordinator, Lance Culpepper Lance may be a Georgia native, but he now calls the Outer Banks home. He came to Manteo to be a performer in The Lost Colony where he has served in many capacities including his present as Production Coordinator. Lance has toured with professional children’s theatre and currently serves as a member of the education committee for the RIHA. For nine years he worked as a costumer for an independent TV studio in Virginia, where he designed costumes for eight series and several movies of the week. He is thrilled to have his son and daughter be a part of the cast for thier third season.
