ITEM #2 -
QUEEN’S GARDEN PAINTING
Award-winning watercolorist Peggy Saporito has captured
theatrical magic in her watercolor of Queen Elizabeth
greeting her subjects in Paul Green’s The Lost Colony.
Inspired by a photo of the scene taken on opening night by
J. Aaron Trotman, Saporito’s detail is incredible. It is
truly remarkable to see the golden lace and pearls from
award-winning William Ivey Long’s costume come across
vividly in her depiction of the Queen’s Garden scene.
Saporito’s art can be seen at The Christmas Shop and Sea &
Sounds Gallery in Manteo, NC, the Currituck Courthouse in
Currituck, NC and Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield, WI. One
of her paintings hangs in a permanent collection of the Dare
County Justice Center in
Dare County, NC. This watercolor
has been professionally matted and framed in gold. Framed
size is W: 34 in x H: 29 in. This original art work is
signed by the artist and includes a registered certificate
of authenticity.
