Local Audition Location
This year Local Auditions will be held at the Roanoke Island
campus of the College of the Albemarle.
Acting auditions will be held in the COA Auditorium, the
dance auditions will be held at the Gymnasium, the
technician interviews and other auditions will be held at
the auditorium.

Historical Figure - Female, 19 (modern
age equivalent 24-29) Caucasian. Born in
London; lived in London. Beautiful and
unassuming. Independent and intelligent
member of the rising Middle Class. Daughter
of a gentleman, JOHN WHITE. Singing is an
advantage. Pleasant singing voice for
lullaby. Betrothed and wedded to ANANIAS
DARE. Cares deeply for JOHN BORDEN. We are
seeking performer for 2010 Season. Contract

JOHN BORDEN
Created Character - Male, 20s 30s,
Caucasian. Lower Class. Tenant farmer from
Devon, England. Can read and write but
little more. A natural born leader. Rugged
and practical. Believes colony in the New
World is a noble venture. Cares deeply for
ELEANOR DARE. He is attractive, but not
necessarily in a traditional way. We are
seeking performer for 2010 Season.

HARRIS
Created Character Male, a hard
lived 40s. Contemporary of SIR WALTER
RALEIGH. Lower Class. Well Educated, could
have been a school master whose students
drove him to drink. A drunkard that
rediscovers himself in the New World.
Comedic role. Should be able to carry a
tune. We are seeking performer for 2010

Historical Figure- Female, 40s-50s,
Caucasian. In her prime. One of the most
educated individuals in England. Reluctant
to approve Raleigh's dream of a colony in
the New World. Very formal and in control of
herself and her kingdom. We are seeking

RALEIGH
Historical Figure - Male, 30s, Caucasian.
Well Educated descendant of the landed
gentry. Witty intellectual and flatterer who
appealed to the Queens intellect, vanity
and sense of fun. Dreams of establishing a
colony in the New World. Handsome, despised
by the court, but highly respected by his
friends and relatives in the West Country of
England. We are seeking performer for 2010

GOVERNOR JOHN
WHITE
Historical Figure-Male, 50s,
Caucasian. Gentleman of the rising middle
class. A painter whose family origin was in
the West Country of England. Father of
ELEANOR DARE. Governor of the colony.
Returns to England for aide and never sees
his daughter or granddaughter, VIRGINIA
DARE, again. We are seeking performer for
2010 Season. Contract Dates: May 9, 2010

Caucasian. Slightly older than ELEANOR.
Gentleman, rising middle class. Lived in

individuals for summer seasonal positions. Dependable
transportation a must.

Evenings positions only at theatre kiosks. Minimum age 18.

Day, evening, full-time or part-time. Computer skills a
definite plus, but will train. Minimum age 18.
->HOUSE
STAFF
Theatre ushers, part-time evenings only. Minimum age 16.
->SENIORS
If you are 55 or older with limited income, but want to
work, we may have the training and employment opportunities
that are just right for you.
