The Lost Colony is a cultural treasure and an enduring testament to hope and perseverance. Not only does the production honor the history of the first English colony, but it also tells the story in a vibrant theatrical way that, after 87 seasons, carries its own history and legacy. The Lost Colony is the granddaddy of all outdoor dramas and its production helped popularize and modernize the Outer Banks while introducing generations of young people to a life in the arts. There is no other production like it and the non – profit Roanoke Island Historical Association is proud to be the producer.
Ticket sales though unfortunately cover less than 50% of the cost of the production. Whether you’re a lover of the Outer Banks, history, or theatre, the Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA) and The Lost Colony could use your support.
