The Mystery of the Lost Colony is an interactive performance designed to not only educate young audiences about The Lost Colony, but get them up on the stage marching, dancing and singing! Parents have your cameras ready!
In just under an hour, Sir Walter Raleigh, Old Tom, Eleanor Dare, Simon Fernando and other characters from The Lost Colony, tell the story of how Queen Elizabeth I of England sent a colony to the New World and share the discoveries, joy and troubles the colonists faced while on Roanoke Island. Young members of the audience will be invited on stage to help tell the story and celebrate the birth of Virginia Dare – even be Queen for the day!
The Mystery of the Lost Colony performances are held during the summer season at the Town of Duck’s Amphitheatre and are sponsored by Carolina Designs. The performances are open to the public and free to attend. Performance dates are Tuesdays, June 20, July 11, July 25 and August 8, at 10:00 AM.
The Mystery of The Lost Colony can also be brought into school auditoriums as a theatrical program to supplement educational curriculum on the early colonization of America. For more information, please call 252 473-2127.
