The current production is led by an award-winning artistic team, several of whom credit The Lost Colony for their own auspicious beginnings. Five-time Tony Award-Winning Production Designer William Ivey Long and Emmy-nominated Executive Director/ Producer Carl Curnutte began their artistic careers with the show!

Oct. 28-30 The Haunted House at The Lost Colony: QUARANTINE ISLAND. Waterside Theatre, Roanoke Island. Come find out what’s been causing the dead to rise and the local population to mutate at Waterside Theatre… if you dare! Youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult; not recommended for those under 10. Blood curdling scares from 7:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. rain or shine. Tickets are $10 per person; $8 per person if purchased before Oct. 28; no refunds. Box Office opens at 6:00 p.m.; last ticket sold at 9:30 p.m. Concessions available in waiting area. Roanoke Island Historical Association Annual Membership Dinner Meeting. North Carolina Aquarium, Roanoke Island. Open to members and friends of The Lost Colony. Evening includes hors d'oeuvres, dinner buffet, meeting, awards, and 1587 Society induction ceremony. Held at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person for RIHA members; $55 per person for non-members. Dress is business casual.

It has something the entire family can enjoy: lavish costumes, daring action, special effects, delightful comedy, music and dance. This is an absolute must-do event that can only be seen here on the Outer Banks. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green’s The Lost Colony recounts the events leading to the mysterious disappearance of the English colonists who settled right here over 400 years ago. The breathtaking beauty of open-air Waterside Theatre sets the stage for an unforgettable night. May 27-Aug. 20 Backstage Tours.
Waterside Theatre, Roanoke Island. Attend this exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how theatrical magic is created at Waterside Theatre. During this 45-minute walking tour you'll learn how The Lost Colony’s stage is transformed into several scenes right before your eyes. Hear about other "tricks of the trade" while visiting the theatre, costume shop, and props areas. Tours are held nightly at 7 p.m. There are no tours Sundays or July 4, 29, 30; August 5, 6, 13. For four nights, valid Dare County residents are admitted free to The Lost Colony. Residents are asked to bring two canned food items per person for donation to local food pantries. Theatre Arts Camp at The Lost Colony 2010Waterside Theatre, Roanoke Island. The Lost Colony Production - Waterside Art WednesdayWaterside Theatre Costume Shop, Roanoke Island. For the budding young artist! Create your own watercolor drawings inspired by John White’s 1585 Roanoke watercolors. Activities include a brief background on the lost colonists, instruction, and time to paint. Beginner’s set of watercolor paints and snack included. Event held on Wednesdays, June 15-Aug 10 from 2-3 pm backstage at Waterside Theatre inside the air-conditioned costume shop. June 23-Aug. 11 Abracadabra, Aladdin!
The Lost Colony Productions - Abracadabra AladdinWaterside Theatre, Roanoke Island. Don’t miss this whole new world of genies, wishes, a mystical lamp and a secret cave in this musical adventure with Aladdin, princess Jasmine and their friends. Face painting, balloon sculpting, and games entertain the children 30 minutes prior to the performance. Performances are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM, June 23 to August 11 at Waterside Theatre. Do you believe in fairies? Join her Majesty at Waterside Theatre for this interactive presentation. In this petite-drama you will meet Queen Elizabeth and her royal court as she sends out an expedition to discover the fairy queen. This event includes a royal audience with the Queen, complimentary souvenir program, theatre backstage tour, and a feast of delicious royal treats. 48-hour advance reservations required. The Queen’s Fairy Quest is performed from 3-5 p.m. For the full experience, allow approximately two hours—actual run-times may vary. The Lost Colony - Simon Fernanados Pirate AdventureWaterside Theatre, Roanoke Island. ARRG! Bring your bawdy crew to this swashbuckling young-pirate adventure to be dressed like a pirate, talk like a pirate and act like a pirate. Enjoy Simon Fernando’s pirate friends in this creative production at Waterside Theatre. All skill levels are welcome. Camp runs from 9 am – 5 pm. There will be a Theatre Arts Camp performance on July 1 to showcase the young talents. Lunch and snacks are provided, cost is $175 per week for RIHA Members and $185 per week for non-RIHA Members. A $45 registration fee (non refundable) is due to hold your place in the session (to be applied towards the registration fee). Balance due on the first day of camp. The Arts Camp includes camp T-shirt; tickets to Abracadabra, Aladdin!; Waterside Art Wednesday, The Queen’s Fairy Quest/Simon’s Pirate Adventure, and The Lost Colony. Camp is for ages 6-15.
